Kid-ID Now available at McDowell Orthodontics!

Over 850,000 children are reported missing every year, and the most crucial time to locate a child is within the first 3 hours!  Kid-ID is the best system available because it provides parents with the most complete information- including photograph, finger prints, distinguishable marks, and a DNA sample attached to an ID Card.  All information is stored electronically and can be instantly sent to any law enforcement agency across America, with the parents permission.  This can significantly increase the chance for a fast and safe return so no precious time is lost.

At McDowell Orthodontics, we are very proud to offer Kid-ID as a service to our community.  Our children are the most precious and important things in our lives.  Dr. McDowell and his staff realize how important this program is to our community, and offer this service at no charge to all the families in Pinellas County.  We encourage all families wishing to keep their children their safest to participate in this valuable program, and to urge their friends as well.

 Invisalign Teen is now available!

Invisalign is now available for teenagers as well as adults!  Through new advancements in technology and treatment forecasting, Invisalign has now overcome prior limitations that allowed it to be only appropriate for adults.  So, there's no more need to be self-conscious about having braces on while going to the prom, taking school pictures, posting pictures online, or when participating in any of the other activities teenagers love!

Some other advantages of Invisalign Teen over traditional braces include:

1) Virtually impossible to see-  Many teens that would otherwise resist seeking treatment with braces are still excited about having straight teeth.  Parents love the idea that their children will still receive the benefits of straight teeth, including building self-confidence and the fact that a beautiful smile will enhance their chances to succeed during social, educational, and career events.

2) More comfortable-  Invisalign Teen aligners are made of lightweight plastic custom-fit snugly around your teeth.  You don't have to worry about the gum or cheek irritation of braces, as well as the inconvenience of braces breaking.

3) Easy to remove-  The aligners are easy to pop out of the mouth and put right back in later.  This is a tremendous advantage when it comes to sports, meals, playing musical instruments, or special social occasions.

4) Easy to maintain-  When it's time to eat, brush, or floss, simply remove the aligners!  Unlike braces, you can remove the aligners and eat whatever you want, without the fear of breaking braces, potential emergencies, and extra charges.
